Lotte announced on the 30th that they have notified infielder Shogo Nakamura (34) that they will not be renewing his contract for next season, and as a result of discussions, he will be leaving the team. Shogo Nakamura wishes to continue his playing career with another club.

After attending Tenri and Waseda University, he joined Lotte as the first-round draft pick in 2014. He supported the team as a core player, recording over 100 hits for six consecutive years from 2018 to 2023. However, last year he was limited to a career-low 20 games due to poor performance and injuries, and he underwent lumbar endoscopic surgery in September. He aimed for a comeback this season, his 12th professional year and the final year of his four-year contract, but he had no first-team appearances as of the 29th.

His career stats through the 29th are a .248 batting average, 90 Home Runs, 456 RBIs, and 108 stolen bases in 1,268 games. Through the club, he released a comment saying, 'I would not be who I am today without the support of the fans who cheered for me through good times and bad for 12 years since joining the team, the club officials who have supported me this far, the staff, my teammates, and everyone around me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am proud to have been able to play for The Marines. I will do my best so that I can show you all my energetic play on the ground again. Thank you so much for these 12 years.'
