Softbank Hawks outfielder Ukyo Shuto was substituted after injuring his left knee area while attempting a sliding catch on Nishikawa's hit to right-center (recorded as a doble) during defense in center field with two outs and runners on first and second in the ninth inning. Manager Kokubo explained, "I hope it's nothing serious. We will check it from now on. He had been playing despite not being in top condition. It's because he ran at full speed at the very end." The left knee was an old injury that he had surgery on in the 2024 off-season.
