Nippon-Ham lost to the Softbank Hawks, and the game gap with the second-place Seibu Lions widened to two.
The starter Tatsu gave up a solo home run, the 26th of the season, to Kondo in the first inning, allowing the first run. In the third inning, with his teammates having successfully turned the game around to 3-1, he gave up a timely infield hit to second base by Shuto and a two-run home run, the 37th of the season, to Kurihara, losing the lead again. He faced another crisis in the fourth inning, giving up one run due to a bad throw by third baseman Arizono, and suffered his seventh loss after pitching 3 2/3 innings with 80 pitches, 7 hits, and 5 runs. He commented, 'I regret giving up a home run in a situation with a runner on base. I want to be able to deliver a pitch that can firmly stop the opponent's momentum in those situations.'
In the second inning, trailing 0-1, the lineup created a chance with runners on first and third with one out, following a hit to right field by Shibata that marked his first professional hit. Arizono then tied the game with a timely doble to right-center, and the team succeeded in taking the lead by scoring a run during Tamiya's groundout to second. With one out in the third inning, Kotaro Kiyomiya hit his 18th solo home run, matching his career high from 2022.
