◆ Pacific League Orix Buffaloes vs. Lotte (June 6th, Kyocera Dome Osaka)

Orix Buffaloes outfielder Yusuke Mugitani started as the number nine hitter and center fielder, recording the team's first hit as the leadoff batter in the eighth inning.

He swung at the first pitch from Lotte's Lucchesi, who had been allowing no hit and no runs. The second baseman Ogawa caught it in his glove with a diving play and immediately made a throw to first base, but Mugitani's speed surpassed it.

They avoided the humiliation they had suffered against Roki Sasaki since the Lotte game on April 10, 2022 (ZOZO Marine). At this point, Lotte sent their second pitcher, Suzuki, to the mound.
