Orix Buffaloes catcher Tomoya Mori (31) revealed his thoughts on aiming for a complete comeback next season on the 3rd. The star player, who underwent surgery on his left wrist on August 26, is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the club's facility in Maishima, Osaka. Accepting the current situation where a return within this season has become hopeless, he looked straight ahead.

"After all, I want to make the flowers bloom once more. I want to show that I'm not finished yet," he said. On this day, he underwent electrical treatment and checked the range of motion in the affected area. Having been resilient to injuries without a history of major surgery, he could not hide his frustration, saying, "I keep wondering why this happened... I have a lot of thoughts about it."

In this season, his fourth year since transferring from the Seibu Lions as a free agent, he played 66 games with a .243 batting average, 7 Home Runs, and 24 RBIs. "If possible, I wanted to heal while playing in games," was his undeniable true feeling. He first reported pain in late May and explored all possibilities until he was removed from the active roster on August 15th.

His goal is to eliminate any anxiety during the catch and resume full-scale swinging in November. He renewed his determination, stating, 'I think Waka (Wakatsuki) has become the starting catcher, so I want to go in with the mindset of taking that spot back.' Among other fielders, Tonogu and Sugisawa have also been sidelined for a long time due to surgery. The cornerstone of both offense and defense will challenge for his position without regard for appearances. (Toru Osada)
