Pacific League: Nippon-Ham 1-1 Softbank Hawks (12th extra inning, 2nd, ES CON FIELD)

Nippon-Ham played to a draw against the first-place Softbank Hawks after an extra inning. They were unable to secure consecutive wins. The game difference with the second-place Seibu Lions remains at two.

After the game, Manager Shinjo commented, "We couldn't extend our winning streak today, but we'll start again from Sendai!" He looked ahead to the away games against the Rakuten Eagles starting on the 4th.

The starter Tatsu delivered a no-hit pitch through four innings. Although he gave up a hit to center field to the lead-off batter Yamamoto Yu in the fifth, he shut down the following hitters. He continued to allow no runs until the seventh inning, but in the eighth, he faced a crisis with no outs and runners on second and third after a Walk to Yamamoto Yu and a doble by Yanagimachi. After one out, he allowed the tying run during Makihara Dai's ground ball to first base.

The lineup was held to just one run, a solo home run by Tamiya in the fourth inning, by Softbank Hawks starter Uwasawa acting as a closer. In the bottom of the eighth inning immediately after the game was tied, with one out and the bases loaded, Kotaro Kiyomiya and Castro both struck out in succession, failing to capitalize on the scoring opportunity.
