Pacific League: Nippon-Ham 1-1 Softbank Hawks (12th extra inning, 2nd, ES CON FIELD)
Nippon-Ham ended in a draw against the league-leading Softbank Hawks after an extra inning. They were unable to secure consecutive wins.
The starter Tatsu delivered a no-hit pitch through four innings. Although he allowed a hit to center field to the leadoff batter Yamamoto Yu in the fifth, he shut down the following hitters. He continued to allow zero runs until the seventh inning, but in the eighth, he faced a crisis with no outs and runners on second and third following a Walk to Yamamoto Yu and a doble by Yanagimachi. After one out, Yamamoto Yu, the runner on third, came home during Makihara Dai's ground ball to first, and the game was tied.
The lineup was held to just one run through seven innings by Softbank Hawks starter Uwasawa, coming from Tamiya's fifth solo home run to right field in the fourth inning. In the bottom of the eighth, immediately after the game was tied, they failed to capitalize on a one-out, bases loaded opportunity, despite the closer being available.
