Saitama Seibu Lions player Canario fired the opening hitter Home Run.

Canario took the leadoff spot in the bottom of the first inning. He caught the second pitch of the opposing starter, Takahisa Hayakawa pitcher, and the ball extended to center fielder. He scored the opening run with his solo home run for the 13th homer that pierced the right side of the back screen.

Saitama Seibu Lions faced pitcher Hayakawa again on August 22. In that game, he pitched seven innings without runs. With Canario's leadoff hitter homer, he avenged his previous defeat.
