In the top of the 8th inning, trailing by two runs, opposing starting pitcher Kaima Taira was replaced by Wingenter. Kiyomiya, the leadoff batter in this inning, pulled a high outside fastball on the second pitch of the at-bat, with a 1-0 count. The sharp line drive went straight into the right-field stands where the fans were waiting. This pitcher run signaled a comeback, bringing Home Run to within one run.

This was a valuable home run off pitcher Wingenter, who set a new NPB record this season with 20 consecutive hold. He'll be looking to further improve his form as he competes for the top spot in the final stages of the season.
