In his previous appearance, he recorded 9 strike out and shutout game win, leaving 3 in this game. In the top of the 2nd inning, he swung and missed a struck out off rookie Kyosuke Kaneko, and in the top of the 3rd, he scored struck out mainly by cutter off the leadoff Rui Muneyama.
