◆ Seibu Lions Pacific League: Seibu vs. Rakuten Eagles (28th, Belluna Dome)

Rakuten Eagles pitcher Takahisa Hayakawa (28) spoke at Belluna Dome on the 28th about Waseda University manager Satoru Komiyama (60), who is set to step down at the end of this autumn following the expiration of his term.

During his time at Waseda University, Hayakawa was coached by Manager Komiyama and served as captain in his fourth year. Reflecting on his student days, he said, 'I learned a lot about things like Waseda's history, the development of professional baseball, and the leadership Waseda showed in leading student baseball. I am very grateful to Manager Komiyama because he helped me grow not only in baseball but also as a person.'

Expressing his gratitude, he shared that the teaching from Coach Komiyama that left the strongest impression was: "Go out there and pitch until the outcome is decided." He added, "I was also taught that the preparation aspect is crucial, and I believe those lessons are still very much connected to who I am today."
