Rakuten Eagles pitcher Kosei Shoji started against the Orix Buffaloes and left the mound after allowing four runs on eight hits and three Walks in six innings.

He received five runs of support by the second inning but couldn't settle in. In the third, he gave up three runs on timely hits by Kita and Ota, among others. In the fifth, he allowed a timely hit to left field by Kurebayashi. Mixing splitters with a fastball that reached a top speed of 154 km/h, he recorded nine strike outs.
