Pacific League: Orix Buffaloes 1-5 Rakuten Eagles (25th, Kyocera Dome)

Rakuten Eagles infielder Rui Muneyama hit the game-winning hit.

He stepped up to the plate in the sixth inning with one out and runners on first and second, trailing by one run. He hit a two-run go-ahead doble to right-center off Kuri. Rookie Tatsuki Ito, a Waseda University alumnus, was the starter for this game. Muneyama, a Meiji University alumnus, had played in the Tokyo Big6 Baseball League alongside the right-hander. "Since my junior from the Big6 was working hard in his first start, I wanted to do something to help. I'm glad we could take the lead," he said with a smile.

With support from Muneyama, Tatsuki Ito recorded his long-awaited first professional win. Muneyama said excitedly, "I think he had a lot of different feelings about his first start. Since he's a junior I've known and played against since university, I'm really glad my hit drove in a run."
