Kurokawa, who had competed in the Koshien for five consecutive seasons during his high school years, said with excitement, “We never won the championship, so I think this is amazing. I believe they became the best in Japan by overcoming training that’s beyond imagination, so I really admire them.”
He sent T-shirts as a gift when the team qualified for Koshien tournament. "I watched it on TV, and I went to the high school during the off-season to say hello and talked with Coach Nakatani. I thought everyone was doing their best," he said, showing that he was always concerned about his alma mater.
So far this season, he has played in 106 games, batting .242 with 3 Home Run and 20 RBI. He is using the efforts of his younger teammates as motivation. "My younger teammates are working hard, so I want to work hard too," he said with determination.
