Seibu Lions Lions pitcher Ryosuke Moriwaki earned his first win in 1150 days, since June 28, 2023, against Nippon-Ham Fighters (in Naha).

With the score tied at 2–2 extra inning, he took the mound as the seventh pitcher in the 10th inning. He induced a groundout to shortstop from Kurokawa and a swinging strikeout from Horiuchi struck out, then finished off Watanabe with a swinging strikeout struck out.

Immediately after that, extra inning in the 11th inning, Takeya Nakamura in his 25th pro season infielder hit his first home run of the season bases loaded, securing the long-awaited victory. Tsuyoshi Nakamura’s Home Run was described as “incredible. I was speechless.“Wow, is this for real? It’s just too amazing—as expected of him,” said the right-hander, who had been watching from the bench. While remaining humble—saying, “It’s not so much about me as it is that Mr. Nakamura is just too amazing…”—he smiled brightly and added, “reliever ’s win was largely thanks to the fielder lineup. But I’ll do my best to prepare well for the next game.”

Moriwaki had pitched in over 40 games for three consecutive years starting in 2020, but in 2023 he developed "right brachial artery occlusion," and from 2024 he was relegated to the developmental league. He diligently continued his rehabilitation and returned to the main roster on June 30, and on July 3 against Orix Buffaloes (at Hotto Motto Stadium) he made his first appearance in a first-team game in 1087 days.
