Rakuten Eagles lost to Seibu Lions in a close game.

Starting pitcher Takinaka gave runs a run in the third inning with two outs and runners on first and second base when Canario hit a timely single to right field, conceding the first run of the game.

Despite getting runner on base, the offense failed to score. They repeatedly advanced runner into scoring position against Seibu Lions 's starting pitcher Takahashi, but couldn't get a hit when the opportunity arose.

The counterattack came in the sixth inning. After drawing two Walk from the second pitcher, Sato Hayato, they created a scoring opportunity with runners on first and second with one out, and Horiuchi hit a game-tying RBI single to right field, bringing the game back to a tie.

It was the seventh inning, right after they had tied the game. With one out and a runner on second base, Takinaka faced a dangerous situation when Sato Futoshi hit a timely doble down the left field line, giving the opposing team the lead. Takinaka was taken out of the game after seven innings, having given up eight hit and two runs.

Trailing by one run in the bottom of the ninth inning, McCusker hit a game-tying RBI single to right field with two outs and a runner on second base. They managed to tie the game at the last minute and force extra inning innings, but in the eleventh extra inning, Tai gave up bases loaded slam to Nakamura Takeshi and lost the game.
