On the 20th, Orix Buffaloes announced that they will hold a retirement press conference and retirement ceremony for pitcher and pitcher coach Yoshihisa Hirano (42) during their game against Softbank Hawks on September 25th (at Kyocera Dome). After announcing his retirement at the end of this season on the 9th, they are making arrangements to give the veteran a proper send-off. Titled "THE LAST GAME WARNING #Understated yet spectacular #The final Hirano show," the event will give the legendary closer a spectacular send-off.

Hirano joined the team in 2005 through the university/corporate league draft's special selection system after graduating from Kyoto Sangyo University. After a three-year stint in Major League Baseball starting in 2018, he remained with Orix Buffaloes Buffaloes his entire career. He won the Best reliever award in 2011 and the Most Saves title in 2014. In 2023, he became the first Orix Buffaloes player to be inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.

He achieved the unprecedented feat of becoming the first player in history to clear 250 saves and 200 hold in his 21-year career in Japan and the US (258 saves, 205 hold). He also has a history with Softbank Hawks manager Kokubo, having aimed for a world championship in the 2017 WBC, making this a truly special stage for him.
