◆ Pacific League Nippon-Ham 8x-7 Softbank Hawks (10 extra inning) (19th, ES CON FIELD)
In the 7th inning, with Softbank Hawks leading by three runs, reliever Osuna gave up a go-ahead bases loaded slam to Mizuno with bases loaded loaded and one out. They tied the game in the 8th inning with sacrifice fly by Shuto, but Hernandez couldn't hold on in the 10th inning with extra inning tied 7-7. With one out and a runner on third, Kiyomiya Yuki hit a ball through the gap between first and second defense, resulting in their third walk-off loss of the season.
In the fifth inning, they took an early 4-0 lead with a three-run homer by Takashi Hirose. In the fifth inning, they added two more runs with consecutive RBI hits from Kurihara and Yanagida, extending their lead to six runs. However, in the bottom of the inning, starting pitcher Uwasawa gave up a three-run homer to pinch hitter Imagawa, who was his second of the season.
In the seventh inning, they had a chance to score another run with the bases loaded loaded and one out, but Yamamoto struck out looking at a low pitch on a 1-2 count. The ball was so low that catcher Gunji's mitt touched the ground after catch, and Yamamoto looked dissatisfied with home-base umpire Nagai's call, while manager Kokubo also jumped out of the dugout and made a gesture of displeasure. The next batter, Makihara Dai, also struck out, and the team's scoreless inning proved costly.
Losing after coming back from a six-point lead was a humiliating defeat, the first in six years since 2020.
