Orix Buffaloes Reiji Higashiyama pitcher made his professional debut as the fifth pitcher in the 7th inning with a score of 2-7. He grounded out the leadoff Nakamura on a change-up to third floor. After scoring his first professional out against a 481-Home Run home run, Yamamura swung and missed struck out with a change-up.

The 152 km/h right-handed pitcher joined the team as the 5th pick in the 2024 draft. In May of his first year as a professional, he underwent ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction surgery (commonly known as Tommy John surgery) on his right elbow, and was re-signed as a developmental player during the offseason of that year. After overcoming rehabilitation, he returned to the main roster on July 30th. The 26-year-old veteran made a spectacular debut at Tokyo Dome, throwing a top speed of 149 km/h.
