Nippon-Ham 's infielder Rodolfo Castro hit a home run for the first time in a while, giving his team the lead.

In the second inning, with one out and a runner on second base, he stepped up to the plate for the first time. Despite being behind in the count, he connected with a poorly placed fork from Orix Buffaloes starter Soya. It was his first home run since May 30th, a go-ahead two-run shot over left field, his eighth of the season. He clenched his right fist as he watched the ball land in the stands.

The foreign player, who was given a starting starting line-up, commented, "I cleared my head, narrowed down the pitches I wanted to hit, and stepped into batter’s box. I'm glad it led to a positive result."
