In the bottom of the 8th inning, with the score tied 1-1 and one out with a runner on first base, Yasuda hit a sharp line drive drive down the right field line off Wingenter. First base umpire Nakayuki initially called it a foul ball, but Lotte manager Saburo requested a review. After a replay review, the call was overturned to fair, and Yasuda was doble. The game resumed with one out and runners on second and third base, and Yamaguchi followed with a go-ahead RBI single to left field.
