Softbank Hawks suffered their second consecutive loss, their first since July 10th, due to giving up four runs in the first inning.

Otsu started the game aiming for his first career 10th win, but was pulled after 7 innings having runs. His early struggles, including giving up a 3-run homer to YG's Yasuda, proved costly.

The lineup closed the gap to two runs, but in the ninth inning, Hikaru Kimura was runs by one. With the second-place Seibu Lions also win, the magic number for winning remained at 30.
