Seibu's catcher, Ryosuke Koresawa, a fourth-year player who graduated from Seibu Lions, made his long-awaited debut in a first-team game against Nippon-Ham on the 13th (at Escon Stadium).

He came up to bat as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs and his team trailing by six runs. He showed resilience and drew a Walk on the ninth pitch to get on base.

This time, Korezawa was promoted to the first team as a replacement for Tsuge, who was removed from the active roster on the 12th due to a special exception for bereavement leave. Korezawa is a right-handed catcher joined the team in 2022 as the fourth pick in the developmental draft, after graduating from Kenta Takasaki High School and Hosei University. In his fourth year as a developmental player this season, he played in 36 games for the farm team, batting .240 with 5 RBI, and on July 31st he achieved his long-awaited promotion to the main roster.
