Orix Buffaloes Tajima was replaced in the third inning with two runs. In the first inning, Nakajima gave up a leadoff hitter homer and hit a single to right field off Muneyama. Sato also gave up a doble to right-center, giving up two runs with hitter of three batters. He threw 43 pitches in the first inning alone. In the second inning, all three batters retired in order. He got out on all three swing-and-misses struck out, but his total pitch count reached 82.

Tajima's last win was on May 30 against Chunichi Dragons (Kyocera Dome Osaka), where he earned his second win of the season. He was unable to secure his first victory in two and a half months.
