On the 13th, Lotte announced that they will begin accepting orders for retirement memorial goods for outfielder Katsuya Kakunaka, who announced his retirement at the end of this season, at The Marines Online Store starting at 12:00 PM on August 14th.
The commemorative merchandise being sold this time includes a total of 86 items across 7 different categories, featuring visuals from throughout the years, handwritten messages, and designs by illustrator hico, which outfielder uses as his profile picture on his social media count.
Hico's illustration depicts outfielder carrying a bat and chasing away birds from ground when the game against Orix Buffaloes on September 20, 2022, was temporarily suspended due to a large flock of birds. Incidentally, a retirement ceremony for outfielder Kakunaka will be held during the game against Softbank Hawks on October 2 (Zozo Marine Stadium, game starts at 6:00 PM).
