Softbank Hawks Hawks outfielder Tomoya Masaki hit a hitter Home Run. In the first inning, with a 2-2 count, he sent a fastball from Lotte's Long into the left-field stands. This was his fifth hitter Home Run of the season, tying the team record set by Makoto Sasaki of the Daiei Hawks in 1992.
He was delighted with his 18th home run in two consecutive games, saying, "As the leadoff hitter, I just wanted to make this an at-bat that would give the team momentum."
