Seibu Lions Lions manager Fumiya Nishiguchi visited the team's third-string summer training camp, which is being held in Bibai City, Hokkaido for the second consecutive year, on the 10th.

The previous night, the team played against Softbank Hawks at their home stadium, Belluna Dome, starting at 5 PM, and arrived in Hokkaido that morning. Following last year's example, he inspected the practice sessions of both pitcher and fielder, and gave them individual pep talks. "These players have so much room to grow. What's really important from here on out is how they develop. I want each and every one of them to work hard," he said, expressing his expectations.

During his inspection, the manager also interacted with fans who had come to watch the camp. After his approximately two-hour inspection, he revealed his intentions, saying, "Knowing that the (first-team manager) has come to watch might make a difference (in terms of motivation)," and smiled as he looked at the young Lions players covered in mud, facing the white ball, and added, "Everyone has a good expression on their face, and pitcher and fielder are practicing, so I think it's really good."

The first team will travel to ES CON FIELD from the 11th to play a three-game series against second-place Nippon-Ham.
