Atsuki Muto

Rakuten Eagles Eagles outfielder Atsuki Muto was removed from the active roster on the 10th.

Muto has appeared in 24 games this season, batting .190 with 2 RBI. He was mainly used as a pinch runner or defense substitute.

He came off the bench during the game against the Nippon-Ham on the 7th (ES CON FIELD). In the ninth inning with the score tied, one out, and runners on first and second, right fielder Muto fielded a ground ball to right field hit. With second baseman runner and third baseman Arizono both stopping at their respective bases, the ball was thrown home bad throw. The ball floated high and sailed over catcher ’s head, allowing walk-off to score.Manager Yoshii commented, “defense. If he keeps doing things like that in situations like this, he won’t be able to play in games anymore. There’s nothing we can do about today. We’ll make sure he practices hard so this doesn’t happen again.”
