Nippon-Ham win Softbank Hawks, securing their first win at Mizuho PayPay Dome, a venue where they had previously lost all seven games this season. They took the lead in the 8th inning with the bases bases loaded and one Hit by Pitch when Nomura was hit by a pitch, forcing in a run.

Hosono left the mound after 103 pitches in the sixth inning with 6 hit and 2 runs, reflecting, "I wanted to closer somehow while they were leading. I gave up the worst runs allowed."

Even so, with the score tied at 2–2 in the 8th inning with one out bases loaded, Nomura drove in a run Hit by Pitch to give his team the lead. Later, with two outs bases loaded, Kamikawabata hit a timely doble off Hikaru Kimura to sweep, adding three more runs.
