Lotte's second-round draft pick, left-handed pitcher Kaito Mori (22) from Meiji University, pitched six innings, throwing 86 pitches and allowing only three hit and no runs. He was also supported by the offense, and earned his third win of the season, his first since the game Seibu Lions on May 3rd. All three of his wins have come against Seibu Lions, demonstrating his dominance against them.

After finally securing a win after three months, he said with deep emotion, "It's been an incredibly long time." Last summer, as a senior at Meiji University, he visited ZOZO Marine Stadium to watch a game as part of the "BLACK SUMMER WEEK" event. Seeing the team playing in their special black-based uniforms, he thought, "These uniforms look cool." After the draft last fall, he joined the Chiba Lotte Marines and, as starter, win against Seibu Lions in "BLACK SUMMER WEEK." He seemed to feel a strange sense of destiny, saying, "I'm happy that I was able to win in these uniforms."
