The Nippon Professional baseball Organization (NPB) announced on the 4th that it had issued a stern warning and a 100,000 yen fine to Rakuten Eagles outfielder Carson McCusker who was ejected from Orix Buffaloes-Rakuten Eagles game on the 3rd (Tokyo Dome) for insulting the first base umpire.

In the first inning of the game, with no outs and runners on first and second, McCuscar was struck out swinging and repeatedly made gestures in protest of the half-swing call, showing displeasure by raising his hand and being ejected for insulting the umpire at first base. Akimura umpire, who was serving as the first base umpire, explained, "At first, (after the call) McCuscar raised his hand and complained, and I approached him as a warning, trying to stop him once. (McCusker) stopped the behavior, so I went home too. Then, after returning to the bench, he did the same thing again, so that was clearly an insult to me, so he was ejected."
