Orix Buffaloes Alen Kuri pitcher was pulled after the sixth inning. Although he allowed only 2 earned runs, his 6 runs and 3 homers were both the worst of the season. He had a tough pitch from the start.

In the first inning, Nakajima led off with a single to left field, and a fielding error by Kurebayashi immediately put the team in a jam with no outs and runners on first and second.
