Orix Buffaloes Alen Kuri pitcher was pulled after the sixth inning. Although he allowed only 2 earned runs, his 6 runs and 3 homers were both the worst of the season. He had a tough pitch from the start.

In the first inning, Nakajima led off with a single to left field, and a fielding error by Kurebayashi immediately put the team in a jam with no outs and runners on first and second. The next batter, Tatsumi, hit a go-ahead RBI single to right field. After that, with two outs and runners on first and second, Asamura hit a three-run homer to the left of the center field scoreboard.

In the second inning, immediately after their own offense scored a run, they gave up back-to-back solo home runs to Muneyama and Nakajima, extending the lead to five runs.
