Lotte suffered a crushing defeat, allowing only three hit in shutout game against Nippon-Ham 's starting pitcher, Arihara. They lost the first three-game series after the All-Star break with a 1-2 record, missing out on their first consecutive wins and series win in about a month, since Rakuten Eagles against Rakuten on June 30th and July 1st.

Starting pitcher Andre Jackson allowed a go-ahead doble to Arizono in the second inning, and then gave up a two-run homer to Reyes in the third. He then pitched runs until the sixth, but received no run support and suffered his seventh loss of the season.

With a deficit of six games, Lotte will face second-place Seibu Lions in a two-game series at their home stadium, ZOZO Marine Stadium, starting on the 4th.
