◆ Pacific League: Nippon-Ham vs. Lotte (August 2nd, ES CON FIELD)
Nippon-Ham outfielder F. Reyes hit his 23rd home run of the season, a two-run shot. In the third inning with two outs and a runner on first base, with the score 1-0, he pulled a high 130 km/h curveball from Jackson, sending the ball bouncing deep in the left field bullpen. The ball traveled 114 meters. "I noticed that he was throwing a lot of breaking ball balls to the other players. In my first at-bat, a fastball came and I was late on timing, but in my second at-bat, I was able to hit the floating curveball well, which was great," he commented. This was his ninth home run against Lotte, the most against any team.
Home Run total puts him in second place in the league, tied with Softbank Hawks 's Kondo. This also marks his 13th consecutive game with hit, maintaining his excellent form.
