On the 30th, Seibu Lions announced that they will be supporting the "Pink Ribbon Movement," which advocates for the importance of early detection, early treatment, and early diagnosis of breast cancer, and will be holding the "The Lions Pink Ribbon Campaign 2026" from August 1st (Saturday) to February 28th, 2027 (Sunday).

The initiative began in 2025, initiated by head coach Yusuke Torigoe's statement, "I don't want anyone else to experience the same feelings and suffering I did. I want to expand this movement," and this is the second time it has been implemented. Coach Torigoe learned about the Pink Ribbon movement after his wife died of breast cancer in 2008. He thought that through professional baseball, he could raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of screenings among as many people as possible, and he has carried out similar initiatives with the teams he previously belonged to. Last year, when it was implemented for the first time with Seibu Lions, Coach Torigoe himself stood at the booth as a special supporter of the project, and many fans visited the awareness booth.

This season, at Nippon-Ham game held at Belluna Dome on September 13th (Sunday), a mobile breast cancer screening unit and awareness booth will be set up in the plaza in front of the station to encourage screenings. In addition, from August 1st (Saturday) to February 28th, 2027 (Sunday), those who receive a breast cancer screening at the Tokorozawa City Health center fielder will receive a ballpoint pen designed with The Lions logo and the Tokorozawa City logo.

Centered around the community activity "L-FRIENDS," which was launched in March 2018, we are engaged in various activities based on four pillars: "baseball promotion," "child support," "regional revitalization," and "environmental support," aiming for a healthier society and a brighter future. This campaign is being implemented in collaboration with the Saitama Prefectural Health Promotion Association and Tokorozawa City as part of our "regional revitalization" efforts.

▼ Special Supporter Yusuke Torigoe, Head Coach's Comment

"The Lions conducted this Pink Ribbon campaign for the first time last year, and we are pleased to be able to participate again this year. We hope that this campaign will encourage as many people as possible to learn about breast cancer screening, leading to early detection and treatment. We will continue our awareness campaign in cooperation with the team so that The Lions fans can also learn about it."
