Seibu Lions Lions pitcher Kosei Takahashi took the mound in the third inning as the second reliever for the Pacific League. He spoke with Softbank Hawks catcher Kurihara while wearing a microphone for the broadcasting station, and was taken out of the game after giving up four hit and three runs in one inning.

He was pitch while talking to the battery, and at one point he was worried that the batters would figure out what he was throwing, saying, "Hey, can you hear me!?" After giving up a run and with two outs and no runner on base, he faced Hanshin Tigers 's Sato and asked Matsuzaka Daisuke, a former player for the team who was doing TV commentary, for advice, saying, "Matsuzaka-san, what should I do?" and received the advice, "Remember what we discussed in the team meeting, and be careful." However, after that he gave up back-to-back home runs to Sato and Chunichi 's Hosokawa, and doble down the left field line to Hanshin Tigers 's Oyama, and gave a wry smile, saying, "Sorry, I got hit pretty hard."
