Seibu Lions begins demonstration experiment of heatstroke prevention system at Belluna Dome

Nifco Corporation announced on the 28th that it has begun a demonstration experiment of its heatstroke prevention system at "Belluna Dome" (Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture), which is managed and operated by Saitama Seibu Lions Co., Ltd.

This system utilizes low-power wireless communication to measure and monitor the location of a sensor, allowing users to check the situation remotely from a computer or smartphone. This system has already been fully implemented in 70 schools in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and trials are underway in several municipalities and educational institutions, including Ota Ward and Miyazaki City, as well as in several companies, contributing to protecting the health and safety of children in educational settings and people working in various locations.

At Belluna Dome, where this demonstration experiment will be conducted, environmental measurements have been carried out in the past. However, by installing new measurement sensors at a total of 10 different locations within the dome, temperature, humidity, and WBGT (converted) values for each area can be automatically measured and monitored remotely. This will allow managers to quickly implement heatstroke prevention measures as needed and use the data to inform future planning. Furthermore, the measurement data will be accumulated and graphed, which can be used for area-specific risk analysis and consideration of air conditioning management plans.

This system is scheduled for full-scale implementation around September 2026, following a pilot test starting in July 2026.

• Because it uses a low-power wireless measurement sensor, it is easy to install and remove and does not require extensive wiring work.

- Data aggregation via the cloud allows for situation checks without having to go to the site, as long as there is an internet connection.

- Visualize temperature, humidity, and WBGT (converted) values for each area, and send alerts to administrators when these values exceed the specified limits.

- The system can output historical temperature, humidity, and WBGT (converted) measurement data.

- The system can automatically create and output daily checklists.

• Measurement data is accumulated and graphed, making it possible to use it for area-specific heatstroke risk analysis and for considering facility air conditioning management.
