Rakuten Eagles Eagles manager Masato Yoshii announced on the 27th that the team plans to use a six-day rotation for the second half of the season.

In June and July, Hayakawa, Shoji, Koja, Maeda Ken, Kishi, Urena, Takinaka, Contreras, and Fujii were repeatedly removed from the roster, resulting in an unconventional starting rotation with appearances every 6 to 14 days. Manager Yoshii praised the efforts of the starting pitchers, saying, "Everyone is working hard as a starter," and then outlined his vision, saying, "Right now, there are long gaps between each pitcher's appearances for various reasons, but after the All-Star break, I hope to set clear standings and shorten the intervals between appearances."

August will see a schedule of six consecutive games every week. When asked if they plan to rotate pitchers every six days, the manager explained, "We want to rotate pitcher who are able to pitch every six days. Up until now, the people who have been with us for a while have been in charge of the rotation, so in the second half of the season I will also participate in that and try to make it work well." It seems the manager's opinion will also be taken into consideration.

Manager Yoshii himself has started during his playing days. "I've also played as a starting pitcher, but maintaining a steady rhythm helps reduce fluctuations in form, so I want to do that." By fixing pitching to some extent, it becomes easier for each pitcher to adjust.

The team is in last place with a deficit of 18 losses at the end of the first half of the season. However, since Manager Yoshii took over, they have shown signs of improvement with a record of 13 wins and 14 losses. They will aim to climb the ranks by further strengthening their starting pitching staff.
