The Outstanding Player Award went to Seibu Lions and Haruki Sugiyama from the Pacific League team, and Oisix and Takayoshi Hiro from the Central League team.
Sugiyama took the mound with two outs in the 8th inning and pitched 1 1/3 innings, allowing only one hit and no runs. Taka came in as a substitute and made a significant contribution in the 6th inning with no outs and runners on second and third base, hitting a two-run doble that temporarily gave his team the lead.
The two players were awarded a prize of 500,000 yen.
