Orix Buffaloes ・ Keita Nakagawa infielder has met the requirements to become a domestic free agent (FA).After playing for PL Gakuen High School and Toyo University, he joined the team as the seventh-round pick in the 2018 draft, and this season marks his eighth year in the league. “I’m incredibly happy to have earned this free agency right after being drafted seventh overall—it really makes me feel like I’ve made it as a pro,” he commented. “Once the season is over, I want to take my time to think things through, since this is my life.”
In 2019, his first year as a professional, he achieved a batting average of .386, becoming the first hitter in history to win the interleague batting title. From 2022, he established himself as a regular outfield, and his sure hitting, which earned him the nickname "Invincible Nakagawa" from former manager Satoshi Nakajima (now SD), contributed to the team's consecutive championships. In 2025, he recorded a batting average of .284, 12 Home Run, and 53 RBI in 119 games, earning his first Best Nine award as outfielder.
