In the second game of the three-game series, starter Koshiro Hiroike pitcher started the first inning in a tough battle, giving up three runs. Still, in the second inning, Kyuto Ueda infielder scored one run with his fifth solo homer, and in the fifth, with runners on first and third and one out, leadoff hitter Fujiwara broke through right-center for a game-tying triple, bringing the game back to square one.

However, in the 7th inning, the third pitcher, Shunsuke Nakamori, gave up a crucial go-ahead solo home run to the 8th batter, Fukunaga. The offense was unable to break through Orix Buffaloes relief pitchers, and once again they lost by one run.
