On the 24th, Softbank Hawks win Seibu 7-3 in their game at Seibu Lions Belluna Dome. After conceding the first run, Ryoya Kurihara hit a three-run homer in the top of the 4th inning to take the lead. Kurihara was featured on CS Fuji TV ONE's "Pro baseball News 2026," which aired on the 24th. Kurihara's 30th home run, a three-run homer, was the fastest in both leagues to reach that milestone. Furthermore, he became the 10th player in history in both leagues to reach 30 home runs in the first half of the season.
Commentator Akio Saito said, "He's on pace to match Murakami's recent record of 56 home runs. He doesn't seem to be putting much effort into it, yet the ball is going far in the opposite direction." Fellow commentator Tomotaka Sakaguchi added, "He's not the type of big home run hitter, but... he's starting to hit the ball deep in the opposite direction with good distance, and the number of home run is increasing. He also has a wide range of hits that can result in home runs. He's always been a player with high batting ability, so I think all of that combined is contributing to this pace."
