Nippon-Ham suffered a walk-off Seibu Lions widening the gap between them and second place to three games. In the 10th inning extra inning, fifth pitcher Tanaka gave up a walk-off run to Nevin.
The offense scored first in the first inning with one out and runners on second and third base, thanks to a ground ball to shortstop by Manami. In the second inning, they added two more runs with consecutive RBI hits from Mizuno and Reyes.
However, starting pitcher Ito gave up two runs in the third inning on a single to center field by Genda, triple to center field by Hiruma, and a sacrifice fly to right field by Canario. Hiruma's hit was unfortunately misjudged by center fielder Yoshida, who let it get past him.
In the fourth inning, Watanabe hit a timely doble to center field, tying the game. Yoshida was unable to catch the ball hit deep to center field. Ito, who started on five days' rest, pitched six innings, throwing 97 pitches, giving up eight hit and three runs before being taken out of the game.
