Lotte manager Saburo (50) commented on the 22nd that the farm league game against Orix Buffaloes held at Lotte Urawa Baseball Stadium in Saitama City was called off in the middle of the 4th inning due to the extreme heat.

Both Wada and Miyazaki Ryu, who were in starting line-up, complained of symptoms of heatstroke, and Wada was rushed to a hospital in Saitama Prefecture.

Manager Saburo, who served as the second-team manager for Lotte until midway through last season, said, "It's really dangerous. When it gets this hot, you have to think about whether it's even okay to play baseball. I've talked to the team and we'll try to reduce the number of players who get sick, because the fans are watching, so we'll think of various ways to cope with the heat." He revealed that he is ready to work with the team to come up with countermeasures against the heat.

"Actually, 2 or 3 p.m. is the hottest time. It's really hot. There's no wind ground, so I think it's probably close to 50 degrees. We're doing things like providing water, but it's not enough," he testified, drawing on his own experience.
