Softbank Hawks Hawks catcher Yudai Yamamoto, who had been sidelined with a fractured left hamate bone, has returned to the first team. It has been announced that he will be in starting line-up lineup as the "number 6 hitter and catcher." This will be his first appearance in about a month and a half since June 3rd. He said he "has to make an impression" and is restarting his quest to secure a regular position.

Yu Yamamoto joined the team in a trade from DeNA in May and played in 14 games, batting .349 with 2 Home Run. He was active as a "hitting catcher." However, he injured his hamate bone in his left hand and was removed from the roster on June 6th.
