Orix Buffaloes suffered their second five-game losing streak of the season, tying their worst record, and is now one game below .500 for the first time since April 6th. They have lost seven straight games against Nippon-Ham, and their offense has struggled, scoring two runs or less in every game during that period.

Starting pitcher Takashima took his second loss, giving up 10 hit 5 runs (3 earned) midway through the fourth inning. After Mizuno singled to right off the leadoff in the first inning, Sachi Kiyomiya carried the first pitch to right field, allowing two runs on just four pitches. He also gave up three runs in the third inning. Although an errors from teammates were involved, he couldn't hold on after the errors.

The batting lineup scored one run in the first inning on Yamanaka’s first solo home run of the season, but went silent after that.In the third inning, with no outs and runners on first and second, they squandered the opportunity when Nishikawa flew out to left field and Yamanaka grounded out to second double play. In the fourth inning, they again failed to capitalize on a runner on lead-off, as Moritomo grounded out to shortstop double play, and were held scoreless from the fourth through the seventh innings hit.
