Former Rakuten Eagles Dragons pitcher Chunichi Marte (31), who recently joined Rakuten Eagles, held an introductory press conference at Rakuten Mobile Saikyo Park, the team's home stadium, on the 18th.

The right-handed pitcher, who showed off his new uniform with the number "23," smiled and said, "I'm very excited and happy to be back in Japan. I feel that Sendai has a very comfortable atmosphere."

He is expected to be a reliever and vowed to do his best in his new team, saying, "I will give 100% and give it my all when pitch. I would be happy if the fans enjoy watching me pitch."

Marte, who hails from the Dominican Republic, played for Chunichi for 25 years, recording 1 win, 4 losses, 2 saves, 14 hold, and ERA of 1.95 in 35 games. This season, he made one appearance for the Cincinnati Reds in Major League Baseball.
