Seibu Lions starting pitcher, Kaima Taira earned his seventh win of the season with six runs hit, allowing seven hits. After completing four innings, he once again reached the required innings pitched, and ERA rose to an impressive 0.92, putting him at the top of the league.

In the first inning, he gave Walk to leadoff and allowed a runner on second with no outs due to his own wild pitch, but cut off the runners who came after. In the third inning, he had one out and a runner on third, and in the sixth, one out with runners on first and second, runner every inning. He also expressed his remorse, saying, "My fastball wasn't very good. I need to improve my speed and quality, and try to improve that."

However, he didn't give up any runs at the crucial moments. "I carefully watch which first pitches don't swing," he said, using data-based pitch to closer the Lotte lineup and leading the team to their first consecutive win in July.
