◆ Pacific League Seibu Lions 2-1 Lotte (14th, Belluna Dome)

Lotte lost the first game of their series against Seibu Lions, suffering their fifth three-game losing streak of the season. They are now one game below .500 for the first time since June 13th.

Starter Jackson took his sixth loss, allowing 4 hit, 3 walks Hit by Pitch, and 2 runs over 5 1/3 innings. In the second inning, Nevin hit a solo home run, and in the fifth, Watanabe hit a single sacrifice fly, bringing in runs.

Although the batting lineup recorded hit—outpacing Seibu Lions—they failed to deliver the clutch hit when it mattered most. Trailing by two runs in the sixth inning with one out and runners on first and second, Aito grounded out to second double play; in the seventh inning, with two outs and runners on first and second, Soto grounded out to third, and the team was closer at key moments.

In the ninth inning, with bases loaded loaded and no outs, they managed to score one run on double play, but it wasn't enough.
