Kento Kawase

Orix Buffaloes pitcher Kento Kawase was removed from the active roster on the 13th. In his sixth professional season, he has played in eight games so far, recording one hold and ERA 3.48. He was called up for the second time on the 3rd, but in the game Seibu Lions on the same day (at Hotto Motto Kobe), he gave up one hit and two Walk in 1/3 of an inning, and in a total of three games since being called up, he has not been able to produce results, giving up four hit and one runs, and three Walk in 2 1/3 innings.

He joined the team as the first overall pick in the 2020 developmental draft and was promoted to the main roster in July 2024. In 2025, he mainly served as a long reliever, pitching 32 inning in 23 games and recording his first professional win. He is a versatile right-handed pitch whose strengths are his powerful fastball and his ability to change speeds. He aims to regain his form in the minor leagues and be promoted back to the main roster as soon as possible.
